Workshop Getaways

Random observations and rants

We live in a fast paced world with some insane demands on our time. We are forced to juggle professional time with family time and there is absolutely no concept of personal time. I'm willing to bet you take the mobile phone to the pot in the morning.
I've been running weekend workshops in mumbai for the last 5 years now and there is one thing I'm certain off; We are looking for "ME" time. The woodworking workshops are a great way to learn a new skill, in fact I don't know off any other. But they do not give you wnough ME time. At the end of the day you still have to get back to your life and for a 2 day power tool class this getting back to everyday life gets very difficult

The Crux

So welcome to Workshop Getaway Weekends. It's simple; getaway from the city, from your busy life, to a place where a mobile becomes a storage device and enjoy yourself for a couple of days. I have collaborated with 2 friends to expose you to not one, not 2 but 3 different skills. You will learn the art of mixing and pouring resin, the fine skill, coordination and patience of scroll saw work and you will put it all together using your skill at carpentry.
There will be no free time (We don't want you to feel completely removed from city life). Each day will have a number of 2 and a half to 3 hour sessions. The workshops will be open all the time and kids, pets and partners are more than welcome to join. In fact everything we teach an adult, is also taught to the kids in our kids classes in the city. This is the one place where you and your kid are on a level playing field.

A typical getaway will have the following features
1. 3 skill building workshops
2. 2 days and 2 nights (Arrive Friday evening 4 pm and leave Sunday evening)
3. Board and lodging
4. Community time (Meals, barbecues, campfires)
5. Completion of a home decor product using all 3 skills.
